Frequently Asked Questions

Choosing the right amount of photography coverage for your elopement is crucial to capturing all the moments that matter to you. If you’re looking for a comprehensive package that includes getting ready shots, the ceremony itself, portraits, and group shots with your guests, I recommend a minimum of two hours. This duration allows us to capture the essence of your day without feeling rushed, ensuring we get a beautiful mix of candid and posed photographs.

For more intimate ceremonies or if your priority is focused on the ceremony and portraits of the two of you, one hour of coverage might suffice. This shorter session is perfectly suited for capturing the heart of your elopement—your love and commitment to each other—along with some stunning portraits to cherish forever.

Every elopement is unique, and I’m here to help you figure out the best coverage for your special day. We can tailor your photography package to perfectly match your vision, ensuring every significant moment is captured beautifully.

I’m thrilled to capture the beauty and intimacy of your elopement, no matter the location! For elopement ceremonies within an hour’s drive from my studio in Ashburn, Virginia, I’m happy to waive any travel fees.

If you are getting married in the Virginia Beach area, I will waive travel fees as well!

If your special location is beyond this distance, I apply a modest travel fee based on the current IRS standard mileage rate for the round trip.

Absolutely, I love destination weddings! The thrill of visiting a far off location for a photoshoot is always something I enjoy.

The only additional charges for a destination wedding are a few nights of accomodations and a round trip ticket to your location of choice. A full breakdown can be found on my destination weddings section.

The difference between an elopement and a small wedding has become more nuanced recently. Eloping’s image has evolved significantly over time. It’s no longer just about secretive marriages or rebelling against family wishes.

Today, elopements are now intimate celebrations, usually with just you two or a few loved ones, focusing on the essence of your bond. Small weddings maintain traditional elements but with fewer guests, blending intimacy with tradition.

Depending on who you ask, these terms (along with intimate wedding, minimony, micro wedding, private ceremony, simple wedding, and so on) are considered to be one in the same. Ultimately, what ever you want to call it, the key is knowing that you are celebrating your love in a way that feels right to you!

Either way, my job is to make sure these precious moments will be documented in a way that will help you relive this once-in-a-lifetime moment as if it happened yesterday.

I will promise between 50 to 75 retouched photos per hour of coverage, but I tend to deliver closer to 150 per hour.

I will set up a convenient payment schedule that works best for you! I do require a non-refundable retainer equal to 25% of your package cost that will be due at signing, with the full balance due at least a month before your wedding day.

Life’s unpredictable, and I completely get that plans can change. If you need to reschedule, we’ll work together to pick a new date. If rescheduling doesn’t work out or you have to cancel, any payments made beyond the retainer fee will be refunded. As a goodwill gesture, the retainer can be used towards the cost of any future photography services you might like!
